RAISING PEACEFUL CHILDREN: EVERYONE’S OPPORTUNITY
I so enjoy being out in public and happening to observe a beautiful interaction between a child and parent or child and another adult. It’s so rewarding to see a genuine interaction like this.
During October I was in our local grocery store and observed a group of preschool children in the Produce section.
One of the main produce workers was telling the children about various fruits & vegetables. They were able to taste them if they wanted to. The children were asking questions & he was addressing them in such an age-appropriate manner. All were having a great time!
Each child was being honored and given the fruit of his/her choice. Who knows, one of them might turn out to be a farmer because of this experience. We will never know the difference that that man made that day in the lives of those children.

Make it a positive one!
Today’s Children are tomorrow’s doctors, teachers, and engineers.
Today’s Children are tomorrow’s mothers, fathers, aunts and uncles.
Today’s Children are tomorrow’s artists, singers, and architects.
Today’s Children are tomorrow’s carpenters, chefs and farmers.
What can we do to insure that they live with love not hate?
We must first LOVE them…
What can we do to insure that they live with a spirit of giving not taking?
We must first GIVE to them…
What can we do to insure that they live with an essence of helping not hurting?
We must first HELP them…
What can we do to insure that they live with a spirit of cooperation not Competition?
We must first let them experience
Our CHILDREN are calling to us…They need our unconditional love…
We must SEE with new eyes
We must HEAR with new ears…
We must THINK with a clear awareness… and
We must ACT with a new understanding…

As those outside of a child’s immediate family (doctors, teachers, grocery store employees, etc.) interact with children in a positive and rewarding way, children learn to trust. Their emotional need to connect and interact is met.
Opportunities present themselves on a daily basis for us to show kindness to a child....with a smile, a kind word, a word of encouragement!
AND through the years, I've discovered that giving what I felt I didn't always receive as a child....fills me with the attention and kindness I felt missing in my life as a child.
Enjoy the gift of giving....
