FINDING PEACE IN NATURE:
When my children were young, 12, 6 and 3 years of age and I was a single Mom, we lived very near a mountain, perhaps it was just a "hill", but it made for great climbing.
I enjoyed the trek up to the top. At the top of the mountain, I'd look down down on the city. The view was breath-taking. It was just such a peaceful place to be. I found a wonderful place to sit and would do so, pondering life. Being in nature, brought a peacefulness to my soul.
Today's blog is filled with images from nature that I find soothing. When one does not have time to go for a walk, or be outside, the next best thing, I believe, is to find this peace in pictures such as these.
Allow these images to take you on a journey...into your imagination...into your soul...into your center. Allow the beauty to fill every cell in your body with peace, joy and contentedness.
As I look at this I can feel the coolness of the sprinkler mist, the fresh breeze and hear the rustling of the leaves. OH, what JOY! What comes to your mind?
What do you see in this picture of the sky and clouds? Can you see an animal? a figure? an image?
I recall, lying on the ground and looking up at the sky with my children and watching the changing shape of the clouds.
One would say: "Look, it's a dog!" Another.."Now it's a bowl", and the third, "There are two horses now!" Being present to the moment allows the imagination to run WILD!
Water brings great Peace to my soul. Can you imagine being present to see the glassy surface of this pond as well as the roar of the falls? What a contrast this scene presents in nature. Isn't life that way? Peace and tranquility one moment and the roar of life the next. Can we take it all in? Why not? Life is!! As a dear friend always says: It's all part of the great pageant? Imagine being a bird and flying freely....Soaring about the countryside. What freedom! What peace!
Hopefully you and the children in your life can find great peace in nature itself. And if not, take time to enjoy such pictures...and DREAM!
